The UAE Plans To Provide 100,000 Golden Visas For Best Coders

The United Arab Emirates has announced a proposal to provide 100,000 golden visas to the most remarkable computer programming talent in the UAE and worldwide.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, said that the UAE had signed a contract to teach 100,000 young people in computer programming with several technological companies, including Google, Facebook, and Amazon.

Entrepreneurs, business owners, and coding start-ups will be eligible for golden visas, which provide beneficiaries with long-term residency.

The application process for the National Program for Coders has begun.

Residents of the UAE, as well as those living abroad, can participate in the initiative.

The move is part of an ambitious plan to develop 1,000 digital firms to strengthen the Emirati economy and raise government funding for start-ups from Dh1.5 billion ($0.41 billion) to Dh4 billion.

"We launched a national program for coders with Google, Microsoft, Amazon AWS, Cisco, IBM, HPE, LinkedIn, Nvidia & Facebook with aims to train 100,000 coders, establish 1,000 tech companies that will go global, & increase start-up investments from Dh1.5 billion to Dh4 billion," Sheikh Mohammed wrote on Twitter.

"The new program represents a new step towards establishing our digital economy. The world is rapidly changing, and the fast-growing digital economy will create new types of jobs. To thrive in the ever-evolving world, we must be ready to cope with the emerging trends quickly."

Minister of State for Digital Economy, Artificial Intelligence, and Remote Working Systems Omar Al Olama stated the UAE welcomes experts from all over the world who can help speed the country's growth.

He said that providing a golden visa will attract the most extraordinary talent from both within and beyond the country, allowing them to play a significant part in its development.

The UAE golden visa is available to coders of all countries and ages who apply through the UAE government's Office of Artificial Intelligence or the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.

The government agencies in charge of awarding golden visas to competent coders must submit applications.

Distinguished experts and talents who have excelled in various areas of coding, those who work for cutting-edge international technological companies, and graduates of software engineering, computer sciences, hardware engineering, information technology, artificial intelligence, data science, big data, and electrical engineering are all eligible to apply.
